Figma localization (without leaving your canvas)

A lightweight workflow for teams that need localized UI and marketing text—then engineering handoff, screenshots, or regional launches.

What "localization" means in Figma

In product design, localization is more than translating single strings: it is making sure copy fits layout, line breaks, and tone for each market. Figma is where those decisions are visual—so the fastest loop is to iterate languages inside the file you already use for reviews.

Typical steps

  • Freeze or label your source language frames (e.g. English as master).
  • Translate text nodes to target languages, frame-by-frame or in batches.
  • Review overflow, line height, and RTL if you ship Arabic or Hebrew.
  • Export for dev or share read-only files with region stakeholders.

Where FigmaTranslator fits

FigmaTranslator uses AI to translate selected text layers in place. You can batch-select nodes, set the target language, and optionally add custom instructions (formal tone, product vocabulary, "shorter for mobile," etc.). It complements design-system tokens and a proper copy handoff: we focus on the in-Figma translation pass. For a broader view of options, read Figma translation options and the translation checklist.
